I loved this book .What a tale!!!!! I have probably read everything this author has written and have loved them all. The Nightingale is unbelievable! Totally amazed by her top slow cookers writing and storytelling … thank you, thank you, thank you for a truly wonderful book!!! She deserves all the success that the Nightingale will bring her!. I usually love everything Kristin Hannah writes and this one is no exception. It is the story of families, one in particular, and how the Nazi occupation affects them all.
The characters are well developed as are the times and the settings. I recommend this book. Not only did I really enjoy the story but I learned some things about occupied France.This is a very difficult book to read. The characters are flawed and strong and make decisions that most of us could never make. The writing was solid and the character development was impressive and personal. This is a book that will linger with me for years and months to come.My heart broke many times for what these two women and countless others went through. It is easily one of the must reads for 2015. Descriptions are effective and thorough and paint word pictures that carry the reader from page to page. I enjoyed hearing the interaction between the characters and how each responded to the events happening around them. Definitely a worthwhile read.
